What is
Ignite Fair?
In previous years, Ignite Fair has been defined by its sole event hosted at the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts where hundreds of young people gather to learn and present the countless volunteer opportunities, programs, competitions, and non-profit organizations accessible to youth.
However, as Ignite Fair continues to expand and reach new heights, our 2023 Ignite Fair Organizing Committee has initiated an event catered toward middle school students, kick-started numerous social media initiatives, and continued to release its monthly newsletter aimed at informing youth. As a result of the evolution of this organization, we are no longer defined by our singular event but rather our multifaceted approach to impacting youth.
We believe in the power and potential of young people; the change begins today with consistent positive actions in our communities, both at home and abroad.
Who organizes Ignite Fair?
Ignite Fair’s volunteer fair is an initiative of Pledges for Change and hosted by the 19 committee members of the Ignite Fair Organizing Committee. Since 2014, our annual volunteer fair and related initiatives has engaged around 6,200 students with various opportunities, and supported the commitment of over 28,000 hours of community service by ambitious youth around the GTA.
This year, Ignite Fair will occur in partnership with Volunteer Toronto through virtual platforms. Similar to the 2020 Virtual Ignite Fair, the Organizing Committee continues to work diligently to ensure a smooth transition to the virtual environment.
